THE NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION SAGA: A CHRISTIAN APOLOGIST RESPONSE

ORIGINAL POST:
If you own a New International Version (NIV) Bible, you ought to shred it and burn it immediately!!
It is perverted and blasphemous.Did you know that it was written by Zondervan and they are OWNED by Harper Collins, who also publishes the The Satanic Bible and The Joy of Gay Sex.
NIV has removed 64,575 words from the Bible including Jehovah, Calvary, Holy Ghost and omnipotent to name but a few...
NIV has also removed 45 complete verses. Most of us have the Bible on our phones. Try and find these scriptures under NIV on your phone right now if you don't believe me: Matthew 17:21, 18:11, 23:14; Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46; Luke 17:36, 23:17 John 5:4; Acts 8:37. You will not believe your eyes.

MY RESPONSE AS AN APOLOGIST/POLEMICIST:

Fallacy!!!!
Is Holy Spirit not the right interpretation for agios pneumatos? Ghost is phantasma in Greek. Is Almighty not the same as omnipotent? Is LORD not also Jehovah? Is Golgotha not Calvary? In fact, is the word Calvary in the original Greek? How did these observers notice the 64 thousand plus missing words? Are the missing words noticed by comparing with the Greek text or with the KJV? Those missing verses are provided in the footnotes, so what is the problem when the translators presume the verses are absent in major older manuscripts?
The complain about The Satanic Bible and Joy of Gay Sex is not worth it because the NIV had been produced ever before these books came out. Also, the Zondervan is a publishing house and it reserves the rights to publish, not that they authored the books. Scholars of repute within evangelical, Catholic and pentecostal settings worked together with church pastors to produce the NIV.
I wish I can tell you more about the NIV and how good it is but time and space do not permit me. However, I recommend you to read about ''The Making of the NIV: A Contemporary Version''.
